2011 Finalists announced
The 2011 finalists were announced on July, 4th 2011. The six Laureates, each representing a geographical region, will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on the evening of October 14, 2011, at the Annual Global Meeting of the Women’s Forum in Deauville, France.

Launch of Middle East and North Africa Award
The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, given on an annual basis since 2006 to five laureates, from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America will launch a new Award category for the Middle East and North Africa. The countries in this region were previously spread across Africa and Asia.

Yesterday, the Kauffman Foundation recognized Kavita Shukla's project, Fenugreen, as one of the most innovative young companies in the world by winning the grand prize of the Startup Open competition.
Fenugreen was selected among the 50 most innovative new companies in the world that the Kauffman Foundation "deemed to have the greatest chance of growing into game-changing firms that will move markets and create jobs".
