Florian Schmieg has more than 15 years of experience in technology and consulting. He started his career at Siemens, where he built up a software startup in industrial automation and worked in corporate venture capital, getting first-hand experience in both the corporate as well as the startup perspectives. Subsequently, Florian coached subsistence farmers in rural Uganda setting up dairy cooperatives. 

At the Boston Consulting Group, Florian works with technology and software companies to develop growth strategies, and advises private equity funds in tech investments. In addition, he is a topic specialist in corporate venturing, having set up multiple corporate venture capital funds across the globe. 

Florian has been a regular coach at the Cartier Women's Initiative Awards since 2009, and has coached finalists from the US, Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia, Latin America, and Europe.

Florian is a German native. He studied Business Information Systems in Stuttgart and holds an MBA from INSEAD in Singapore/France. He has lived and worked in six countries.
