Organic growth

In the past year, Sara-Kristina Hannig Nour’s farm-fresh organic vegetable business has focused on organising its day-to-day operations. For a business that is literally growing organically, Sara finds the input the Awards gave her vital.  “It has been so transformative for me: building a business plan helped take my business to the next level; winning transformed how it is perceived, in my own eyes and the eyes of my investors.”

With four new recruits, an online order service that allows customers to compose their own baskets and partnerships with organic farms to boost its offer, the business is moving from ad-hoc to systemised development. Sara credits a number of her decisions to the insights gleaned during the INSEAD programme. “Being away from daily operations gave me the breathing space to pinpoint our HR issues. I saw I had to look beyond the core farming side of my business and pay attention to other aspects, such as website operation or user experience.”

With requests for business opportunities flooding in due to the visibility the Awards brought, Sara is looking to build a new greenhouse and is even contemplating exports to Europe. “The Cartier Awards is a life-changing experience – honestly, it’s almost the best experience of my life!”
