According to figures compiled in 2009 by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, 20,000 tons of Brazil nuts are harvested every year, 35% of which come from Bolivia, the largest exporter of Brazil nuts in the world. With their thick hard shells that are tough to crack, 99% of Bolivia’s Brazil nuts are exported shelled.

Xavier Leroux

Xavier Leroux is a Principal in the Mexico City office of McKinsey & Company, which he joined as an associate in 1999. His practice focuses on serving clients in the oil and gas and the telecommunications sectors. He has also served several branches of the government sector in Mexico. He has worked for clients in Mexico, the U.S., and South America, on topics related with strategy, organization, and operational improvement.

Before joining McKinsey, Xavier worked for Chase Securities Inc. in New York and for the Procter & Gamble Company in Mexico.

Joyce Ventura

Pablo Brenner

Pablo Brenner is a Partner at Prosperitas Capital Partners, the first venture capital fund in Uruguay, and one of the most active in the Latin American VC sector. He is also a board member of Endeavor Uruguay, a non-profit organization aiming at fostering entrepreneurship in developing countries, and a member of the Steering Committee of Programa Emprender, a private/public initiative focused on developing entrepreneurship in Uruguay.

Sônia Regina Hess De Souza
