Afnajjer Hernandez
Afnajjer Hernandez is Principal at Azolla Ventures, with a decade of experience in climate, investment, and deep technology sectors. He is also the Co-Founder of La Familia Foundation, supporting Latine founders and entrepreneurs.
At Azolla Ventures, Afnajjer Hernandez leads sourcing, diligence, research, and team development across climate and deep technology investments. Previously, he helped launch NextEra Energy Investments, scaling the platform to more than fifteen investment professionals and over twenty-five portfolio companies.
Earlier in his career, Afnajjer worked as a senior associate at the Ecosystem Integrity Fund and as a senior strategic planner at Lockheed Martin Energy, overseeing the research and development investment portfolio, advising on mergers and acquisitions, and developing international market entry strategies.
He is also the Co-Founder of La Familia Foundation, which includes VCFamilia and Founder Familia, the largest Latine venture capital organization normalizing Latine culture in the startup ecosystem. Afnajjer holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
