Caroline is co-CEO of Spring Activator, where she works to empower purpose-driven entrepreneurs and impact investors to build better businesses.

Caroline blends impact with business acumen, developed through her international start-up, corporate, and INGO experience. Since she joined, Spring Activator has doubled the number of entrepreneurs it supports, to over 2,100, and taken its work with impact investors global. Underneath the numbers is an entrepreneurial approach to iterating and improving Spring’s own impact and operations as it continues to grow its team, breadth, and depth.

Caroline is currently building ambitious growth plans for Spring’s role as a leading catalyst in Canada for seed-stage impact entrepreneurs and investors, as well as expanding their work into the USA.

Prior to moving to Canada and joining Spring, Caroline started her career in CPG with Procter and Gamble before co-founding and leading a multiple award-winning start-up venture in renewable energy: GravityLight. This venture comprised of a UK social enterprise, a UK Charity, and a Kenyan trading subsidiary, committed to tackling poverty and protecting the environment through innovative product design.

Along that journey, Caroline led a lean team that took solutions from concept to design, product development to pilot, and production to international product launch. As such, she has a deep understanding of the interplay between impact and profit at both a strategic and operational level, knows firsthand how to test and iterate both product and business models, and how to build effective partnerships for maximum impact.

Most notably, she and the GravityLight venture, known by over 34 million people through a viral Facebook video, were awarded 3 Bronze Cannes Lions, ran 3 highly successful crowdfunding campaigns, and were listed as Forbes top 5 UK social enterprises ‘set to change the world’.

She now brings this knowledge and experience to help support impact entrepreneurs to be ready for, and find values-aligned funding and, in parallel, to grow the pool of angel investment available to support these ventures to grow.
