Francis Ngai
Francis Ngai is the Founder and CEO of Social Ventures Hong Kong, dedicated to designing impact-driven solutions for urban communities. He has built platforms and initiatives that advance social innovation, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development across Hong Kong.
Leading impact design and social innovation initiatives since 2007, Francis Ngai has developed Hong Kong’s first venture philanthropy fund, the Community Resilience Fund, alongside initiatives such as Green Monday, Bottless, RunOurCity, LightBe affordable housing, Playtao Education, the HATCH women’s empowerment initiative, COMM-ON co-caring space, the Institute of Community Making, and COMSMOS impact consultancy.
Through strategy consulting and building collective platforms for corporations, family foundations, and government departments — including Airport Authority Hong Kong, Urban Renewal Authority Hong Kong, Swire Trust, Rosewood Hotel, Cathay Pacific, Standard Chartered, Hong Kong Management Association, and Energizing Kowloon East Office — Francis drives integrated solutions that create social and environmental impact across the city.
He serves as an advisor to organizations including AVPN, Project Melo, the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Summit, the Advisory Committee on Built Heritage Conservation, and the Social Welfare Advisory Committee. Francis has received honorary fellowships from City University of Hong Kong and the Education University of Hong Kong, and has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and one of Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons. An avid runner, he has completed the North Pole Marathon and the 250-kilometer Gobi March.
