Matt Isaacs is a serial entrepreneur, impact investor, and general partner of a climate venture fund. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Counteract, the world’s first dedicated carbon removal venture capital firm.

Matt co-founded Counteract in 2020 to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis. The firm has since invested in 25 startups across five continents, supporting innovative approaches to carbon removal.

He is also Co-Founder and chair of ReGenerate, an “action tank” that bridges policy and business to address social and environmental challenges in the United Kingdom. In addition, he has supported initiatives such as Big Change, a youth and education catalyst, alongside several organizations advancing responsible business practices.

Earlier in his career, Matt co-founded Essence, a global media services group that grew to two thousand people managing $4 billion of advertising media across twenty offices. He also co-founded 2Sixty Technologies, a data science marketing platform. In 2015, Essence was acquired by WPP, the world’s largest marketing services group. Matt continues to build teams that harness information intelligently to create opportunities and drive transformational change.
