NAMITA BANKA

Namita Banka founded Banka BioLoo in 2008. To this day, she is the only woman to have successfully built a sanitation business in India. She is an entrepreneur with dreams but is also a visionary who has created new horizons for others to follow.

Starting with just 20K$, over the course of the past 10 years, her business has grown into a limited company and achieved an IPO of 2 MN $ in 2018. Banka Bioloo is also now listed on the Indian National stock Exchange.

Namita has been recognized and awarded for her business model and innovation. She was conferred the Udyami Award by Shri.Venkayah Naidu, Vice President of India in December 2018. She also won the Cartier Women’s Initiative in 2013.

She believes that finding partners is key to business success. Her most notable business partners have been DRDO, FICCI, COWE, ASCI, UN-WOMEN, TENCATE, HAVLLES, GAIL, INDIAN RAILWAYS, INTELLIGROW.

 She has been a speaker at many workshops and conferences and participated in a number of round table discussions. She is a leading voice in the water sector where she hopes to bring about change and create environmental impact.
