Vivian LAU – President of JA Asia Pacific, a member of JA Worldwide. JA Worldwide is one of the largest global NGOs dedicated to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JA Asia Pacific is headquartered in Hong Kong. The 18 Members JA Asia Pacific network is powered by over 30,000 volunteers and mentors from all sectors of society, reaching more than 650,000 students around the region. Before becoming the President of JA Asia Pacific, Ms. Lau was the Chief Executive Officer of JA Hong Kong from 2004 to 2015. From 2005 to 2011, in addition to her role in JA Hong Kong, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Petrochemical Co Ltd, a US$200 million turnover and 100 people strong petrochemical manufacturing company based in Yuen Long, New Territories, Hong Kong. From 2003 to 2005, Ms. Lau was the Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong Petrochemical Co Ltd. With over 20 years of international experience in industry spanning leadership development, petrochemical, IT, airlines, advertising, online and telecommunication industries, Miss Lau possesses a proven track record in starting, growing, managing and restructuring corporations and non-governmental organization. - Ms. Lau was elected one of 12 Internet Superstars of the Year in 1999 by a leading worldwide trade journal, the Advertising Age International and was the only one in HK to be selected. - She was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Interactive Advertisin Bureau from 2001 to 2003, and the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong 4A’s Interactive Committee. - Ms. Lau was elected one of 12 Internet Superstars of the Year in 1999 by a leading worldwide trade journal, the Advertising Age International and was the only one in HK to be selected. - She was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Interactive Advertising Bureau from 2001 to 2003, and the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong 4A’s Interactive Committee. - In 2006, she was the only woman from Asia selected by the International Women’s Forum as one of the 16 Leadership Foundation Fellows for its 2006-07 Global Program. - In 2009, she was selected as the Professional of the Year by the Women of Influence Award 2009 organized by American Chamber of Commerce and South China Morning Post. In the same year, Ms Lau was selected by 《旭茉JESSICA》, Hong Kong’s leading women’s monthly magazine, as one of the 12 Most Successful Women 2009 in Hong Kong and the Mainland, in recognition of her personal achievements and contribution to the success of Hong Kong. - Ms Lau is the Curator and Convener TEDxYouth@Hongkong from 2011 till 2016, and TEDxHongKongWomen 2012. - In 2016, Ms. Lau joined government officials, business leaders, and influencers from around the world in a panel discussion on “Shaping the Future of Production" at the World Economic Forum on ASEAN.
