Born in Tokyo in 1973. His works range from cutting-edge electronic music to piano solos, operas, film scores, and sound installations, and he is based in Tokyo and Paris.

In 2012, he presented 'THE END,' a Vocaloid opera without human performers starring Hatsune Miku. This work has been performed around the world, mainly in Europe, starting with a performance at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

In 2018, he unveiled the android-opera Scary Beauty, an opera for an AI-equipped android and orchestra. In 2021, he composed Super Angels, an opera commissioned by the New National Theatre Tokyo, collaborating with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. His android-opera MIRROR premiered at Expo 2020 Dubai and was later performed in Paris and Tokyo. He pushes the boundaries between humans and technology, and between life and death.
