Mélanie Laurent is a French actor, director and environmental activist. As the recipient of two César Awards, she is a key figure in the French film industry. She has acted in over 40 films. Mélanie made her Hollywood debut in 2009 starring as Shosanna Dreyfus in Quentin Tarantino's blockbuster war film Inglourious Basterds. She has since gone on to work with a renowned group of filmmakers including Mike Mills, Denis Villeneuve, and Angelina Jolie. She was recently seen in Michael Bay's Six Underground and Alexandre Aja's Oxygen on Netflix. She made her feature directorial debut in 2011 with Les Adoptés, following up with the critically acclaimed Breathe. Her first English-language feature, Galveston, stars Elle Fanning and Ben Foster. Mélanie's environment-focused documentary, Demain, became the biggest French documentary release of 2015. Her latest film, The Mad Women's Ball, premiered in Toronto and was released worldwide on Prime Video in September 2021. In 2022, Mélanie starred in “Tempête”, directed by Christian Duguay. In 2023, she will be seen in “Murder Mystery 2”, a comedy with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.
